Please see attached revised drawing for the Prewitt Project. I am sending requisite (5) copies of the revised plan to
Raleigh as required but wanted to give you an early heads up. The attached cover letter explains the situation. All local
permitting entities will have revised hard copies soon.

The previously submitted and approved plan for construction of a seawall and retaining wall on the
Prewitt property at 179 Tryon Bay Circle in Lake Lure, NC has been revised.
For the previous plan, all involved parties had expected the owner of the adjoining property (Lucille
Hodge, Duck Cave Properties, pin no. 227900) east of Mr. Prewitt's property to participate in a
proposed joint repair of the two properties which were bath damaged by the mud slide on May 5,
2013. As of this writing, Ms. Hodge has been unable to participate in the proposed joint repair which
included a tall seawall and retaining wall combination that would join Mr. Prewitt's walls at the
property line.
The apparent withdrawal of Ms. Hodge from the project necessitates a revised design. The new
design essentially turns the walls 90 degrees near the east property line corner and extends it up the
slope similar to the curve on the west side of the property. The attached drawing depicts this change.
No other revisions to the permit application or the permit conditions as issued appear to be necessary.
By copy of this letter, the Prewitts respectfully request that a revised 401 Water Quality Certification
be issued for this project based on this new drawing. Please also note that if Ms. Hodge's status
changes and she is able to participate in this project and secures the necessary permits to allow
construction to begin while Mr. Prewitt's walls are under construction, the Prewitts presume that they
would be allowed to use the original plan to construct the walls. If you have any questions or
