This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in NPDES WW Permit No. NC0069841. Please note that in order to receive automatic authorization to discharge beyond the expiration date, the Permittee shall submit such information, forms, and fees as are required by the agency authorized to issue permits no later than 180 days prior to the expiration date unless permission for a later date has been granted by the Director. NPDES Permit #NC0069841 is for the continued operation of an existing 1.9 MGD wastewater treatment facility that discharges into North Fork Crooked Creek which is classified as C waters in the Yadkin -Pee Dee River Basin. Please be aware that Part I, Section A.(5.), Schedule of Compliance for Ammonia -Nitrogen Limitations, (4.) requires the Permittee achieve compliance with NH3-N limitations specified in section A.(2.) by January 31, 2022. In that Ammonia -Nitrogen Limits change from Monthly Average (Summer) 2.0 mg/I, (Winter) 4.0 mg/I to final limits (Summer) 1.0 mg/I, (Winter) 1.9 mg/I. Weekly Average Limits of (Summer) 6.0 mg/I, (Winter) 12.0 mg/I to final limits (Summer) 3.0 mg/I, (Winter) 5.7 mg/I. Part I, Section A.(4.), Effluent Pollutant Scan; it was noted that samples have been collected for the years 2019, 2020, with the last sampling conducted August 2021. Wastewater Annual Reports for fiscal year 2020/2021 is on file at www. unioncountync.gov/department/public-works/water-and-sewer/resources/wastewater-performanc e-summary. Review of compliance history for the period of July 2020 through June 2021 facility reported missed samples during sample period of May 2021 for Total Nitrogen and Total Phosphorus. Review of flow history for the calendar year 2020 found facility at 59% of flow.
