The chlorinated effluent from the Town Creek (TE) (5.0 MGD) treatment train is combined with chlorinated effluent from the Grant Creek (GE) (7.7 MGD)treatment train . The combined chlorinated effluent is dechlorinated and discharged via parshal flume, effluent sampler, cascade aeration, into the Yadkin River (YE) at Outfall #001. Discharge into the Yadkin River is under NPDES Permit #NC0023884. The current NPDES Permit NC0023884 was issued on October 31, 2014 and expired on June 30, 2019. Permit renewal application was received by the Division on December 20, 2018. Permit renewal is under review. A Draft Permit went out for comment on April 8, 2020. It was noted that the City of Salisbury web site for Wastewater Annual Report has posted 2019 Annual Report. This web site should show the latest (2020) Annual Report. Please note that in accordance with House Bill 1160, the Clean Water Act of 1999, Annual Report, IV. Certification, This law was established to provide a mechanism for public oversight. Those entities that fall under the scope of this part of the law should be forthcoming in their reporting. It was noted during the Records Review that data reported on the Pace Analytical laboratory analysis report was incorrect for Oil & Grease reporting limit. Permittee contacted laboratory and analysis documentation has been corrected. Copy of corrected data has been submitted to MRO. Compliance history was reviewed from July 2020 through June 2021. No limit violations were reported. At time of inspection construction was ongoing for new headworks,conversion of 2 existing trickle filters into EQ basins, installation of large bubble compressed air mixing system, new RAS/WAS pump station, flow meter vault and electrical building. Construction modification for Grant Creek WWTP is done under A to C NCO23884A04.
