Please pick the response below that represents your stance on the above mentioned project?* Yes - I agree with the project. No - I do not agree with the project. Comment We oppose this project because we believe it will have a detrimental impact on Durham's Eno watershed and on the West Point Park. Current plans call for approximately 70% of the development to be impervious surface. The excessive runoff that this will create will damage the feeder stream to the Eno River, especially during the heavy rains that will be more and more likely as global temperatures rise. This runoff has the potential to harm the drinking water that comes from the Eno. Noise from the development will negatively impact the ambiance of West Point Park --a park which many Durham residents fought for and have contributed to over the past many decades, and a park that gets heavy use from the people who live at Old Farm. It is interesting that, once again, a recreational outlet frequented by non -white residents will be polluted by development if this project is allowed to be built. In addition, we believe the law was broken when no public hearing was held about the proposed development of this property. Instead, the plans for the property seemingly progressed behind closed doors, where Durham citizens had no voice. This is not a good model for how any municipality should operate. For these reasons, we hope you will reject the plans for this development. Thank you.
