Comment The Eno River is one of the only waterways in Durham that consistently receives a high score on the City of Durham's State of Our Streams Water Quality Report. The City of Durham and the state of North Carolina have already put millions of dollars into protecting the Eno River Watershed. This development project threatens to erase the hard work of many organizations who have worked so hard to protect the Eno River and preserve its aquatic diversity, water quality, recreational value, and other ecosystem services. The Eno is a tributary of Falls Lake, which is already eutrophic and impaired. Tree loss and a dramatic increase in impervious surface as a result of this development would not only accelerate that process, but would put the drinking water quality of millions of downstream residents at risk, in an already overburdened area of explosive population growth. This development will not only affect the residents who live near the Eno. It will have lasting detrimental effects on a large portion of the Triangle. I urge NCDEQ to stop this development and protect the Eno and North Carolinians who value and depend on it.
