Rachel Carson already taught us what happens when sedimentation and pollution flood our streams and rivers.
Science is constantly evolving to find the flaws that humans make when we destroy and "rebuild" a piece of land
in the "best manner". This development is just another example of what we should not be doing. We do not need
to ruin an area that means so much to the people of Durham, along with the decades of memories shared by
countless generations from the past. Our ecosystems can't take these stressors of pollution, sedimentation of
water ways, and continual degradation of the natural landscape that surrounds Eno River and the Black Meadow
Creek area.
We have enough development coming into the Triangle area and overwhelming fldemand for preservation of
parks and natural areas. This project is a complete violation of what the people want. Developers care about the
dollar bill signs at the end of their checks, not the long-standing and permeant destruction of our public lands.
Continue to develop the urban areas, not the lands of the people.
