We allow the excavator to enter the stream and pluck the bents out instead of building causeways for the equipment to sit on. Causeway construction creates turbidity and has the potential to damage sensitive aquatics. In this case, due to solid bedrock channel and shallow water, equipment was allowed to enter and conduct the operation. The whole affair took less than three hours. A turbidity curtain was deployed but due to a lack of stream depth, it did not perform well. There was only minor turbidness an it was related to instream sediments. page 2
