I am an environmental planner with training in watershed health management and planning. I strongly oppose
this development given its proximity to a sensitive wetland and location within an intact strip of productive forest
habitat. High density housing is a good thing for our watersheds when considered on a large scale, but it should
never be located so close to a stream. I have strong concerns about effluent pollution, erosion, and
sedimentation issues within the beautiful, much loved Eno River and its feeder streams. The combination of
impervious surface increases increased vehicle/fertilizer activity in the proposed development is particularly
concerning. In my professional opinion this project should not be able to proceed at all, but if it is allowed to do
so, conditions requiring green storm water infrastructure should be added to minimize environmental impact.
