I completely disagree with the proposed application. The building so close to the eno river habitat of such high
density housing threatens to destroy habitat of endangered species, the resulting storm water runoff will pollute
the water and alter water levels, particularly at a historic site downstream, and ultimately destroys the natural
habitat. For those that live in North Durham, there is incredible value placed on the protected rivers, streams,
and parks. It is what makes this area have so much appeal for those that enjoy nature and the quiet. Once these
wetland, and stream and river basins are impacted by cutting trees, blasting, and changing water runoff flow
rates- Durham citizens will never get a chance to go backwards in time to recreate what is lost to developing
near protected watersheds. Today, money might grease the wheels to let this develop move forward- a common
practice these days. However, our children and grandchildren will suffer from these capitalistic ways with
destruction of natural treasures that can never be recreated. Drinking water is both the most valuable asset
citizen must protect yet changes in runoff threaten the water levels of surrounding areas making them more
prone to flooding. High density developing is not the solution for the westpoint eno river area. Citizens of North
Durhum do not wish for councils and boards to accept money for what is irreplaceable.
