Black meadow ridge is a high priority watershed preservation area, and an important historic site. The
development of this would result in environmental degradation, increased flooding risk and stormwater
management issues, as well as degrade the cultural identity of Durham. Resilient watersheds are a critical piece
in fighting climate change impacts like more frequent and severe storms. It is critical that black meadow ridge be
protected.
