10/10/05 PARKTON (NC0026921) It was understood by BH, DL, & Mark Brantley,
from the meeting in Town Hall at Parkton today (10-10-05), that the mayor would
provide this office with an update by Friday (10-14-05) concerning the status of
hiring a new ORC for the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). We also
understood that the mayor will contact us immediately when he hired a new
Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator in Responsible Charge (ORC) and
Collection System ORC, and that the Water Pollution Control System
Designation Form would be completed and sent to Raleigh and to the Fayetteville
Regional Office. The following are other items that were discussed in today's
meeting: 1) Robert Adams decided to re -run for Mayor of Parkton for the election
in November of this year, 2) Don Register, of this office, is available for working
with the new ORC, 3) the 24-hour composite sampler for Parkton was not
operating properly during the WWTP inspection performed last week, 4) the
NPDES permit requires that 24-hour composite samples be collected at the
facility once per week (please refer to the Parkton's NPDES permit), 5) a WWTP
ORC is required to visit the Parkton WWTP at least five days per week, 6) the
ESB unit did not receive the Parkton July 2005 aquatic toxicity form (AT-1 form)
(note that this form was later faxed to FRO), and 7) the records of all WWTP
monitoring information must be kept and made available during inspection.
