The assessments do not reflect the true picture of the development's impacts and the impacts from the 401
Individual Clean Water Act Permit disturbances. I stand with groups like Save Black Meadow Ridge, the Eno
River Association, and Preservation Durham who oppose the project. I believe the points being raised by these
group need more thorough investigation and a response to those concerns. Namely:
Application omits how the development has negative impacts on water quality, specifically Durham's drinking
water
Application ignores public safety concerns about direct human contact with water/runoff from the development
Application contains incomplete, conflicting, and/or incorrect information
Application omits how the development negatively impacts threatened and endangered species and their habitat
Application does not account for how the development negatively impacts historic sites
I do not think this project or specific permit is in the Public Interest of Durham residents like myself, or the
environment. I believe a Public Hearing should be required for this development, and the project needs greater
oversight through a different permit type and higher level of review.
