I am opposed to the Westpoint development and their permit application. At the very least, I believe that a public
hearing should be required for this permit, as the development's potential impacts on the Eno River watershed
are of grave import to the local community. The completion of this project necessitates substantial clearcutting
and development of native forests, which will negatively impact runoff patterns around the Eno River indefinitely.
I do not agree that the permit application accurately reflects the true impacts of these disturbances, and I
strongly believe that further investigation and public comment are needed to ensure compliance with Section 401
of the Clean Water Act.
