I am opposed to granting a Clean Water permit to the developers of the proposed "Westpoint" townhomes
immediately adjacent to the City of Durham's West Point on the Eno park, and the beautiful Eno River itself. The
Eno River and its associated riparian forest is an outstanding natural resource of high quality and statewide
importance. People travel from miles around to visit the state park and the city park, and the proposed condo
development would impede the water quality, scenery, and ambience of these parks. In particular, West Point on
the Eno hosts an annual gathering of tens of thousands of people specifically to raise money to protect the Eno
River. How horrific would it be to have glaring new condo development cut out of the woods just upstream from
the park? My kids swim, wade, and fish in the river there all of the time, and I insist that you hold any
development project along the Eno River to the highest possible standards. I will make no secret of the fact that I
strongly support a conservation option for the land in question, and I think that should be the preferred alternative
here in terms of possible outcomes for Black Meadow Ridge. Thank you very much for taking robust steps to
protect our water quality in Durham (I live in south Durham) and across North Carolina.
