Subject: RE: Parkton POTW WET failure for October (and now for November too)
Roy faxed me an AT-1 result form for January, the beginning of a new quarter. It was a "Pass" ! I think Roy might have
started adding bioaugmenting nitrifiers. Looks like he might be out of trouble for now with the Whole Effluent
Toxicity. Parkton's recent history was a "fail" for the whole last quarter of 2013, with a "Fail" for October, a 58.1% for
November, and a 94.9% for December (which was good, but it didn't bring his average up over Parkton's 90% WET
permit limit for the following two months after the "Fail" for October).

Roy faxed me the AT-3 form for the November failure for Whole Effluent Toxicity for Parkton. This time the Chronic
value was 58.1% with the multiple dilution method. Parkton's limit is 90%. Again, Roy said that he thinks that the
cause is high ammonia.

Roy Lowder reported that the Whole Effluent Toxicity resulted in a "Fail" for October. Roy thinks that the high effluent
ammonia is causing the failure. He said that the heavy rains in June 2013 washed out some of the POTW's biomass and
nitrifiers, and he said that he has been having problems ever since. Roy talked Dwight Lancaster this morning, and
Dwight is suppose to phone him back to offer additional advice.
