Comment The Eno River has been here for centuries. Time in and of itself along with global conditions has and will continue to negatively impact the health and growth of this river. As much as I would hate more traffic on the Eno, if that must be the case I perfer a preservation and tourism economic perspective on the commercialization of the features of the river as opposed to housing that could be placed elsewhere. Townhomes are not the type of dwellings that guarantee residents that will care of the property and community, also taking in the fact that the new Northern Durham High School is being built along the banks of the Eno, now is not the time for this residential project. If a residential project must be in the cards, consider the property values and interest in a proposed community with single family homes focusing on it's proximity to the river. Those homes, their residents and their tax contributions would inevitably benefit the river due to their length of the residence in the neighborhood as well as the property cost and the feeling of ownership that creates. The triangle is full of job opportunities and I am sure there are avaiable locations closer to center of the these current and future job hubs that would not add to the already dense traffic of Roxboro Road and with less environmental impact to a river that is one of the regions hidden gems.
