Hello Everyone,
You are invited to the US Army Corps of Engineers Stakeholder /Agency meeting September
1, 2011, from 10:00 to 12:00, in Shelby, NC. The location of this meeting is the
Commissioners Chambers, second floor of the County Administration Building, 311 East Marion
Street, Shelby, NC.
The purpose of this meeting is to get comments on the preliminary alternative analysis
being developed for the environmental impact statement
(EIS) on Cleveland County Water's proposal to construct a water supply reservoir on the First
Broad River. We previously had a stakeholder /agency meeting on February 18, 2009, in which we
requested comments on the "purpose and need" developed for the EIS. We have reviewed these
comments and have incorporated them into that section of the document.
The purpose of this E -mail is to give Stakeholder /Agency participants notification so
they can schedule to make the meeting if they would like to attend. I will send out another
E -mail two weeks before the meeting with attachments for your review and directions to the
meeting location. You will be able to review the alternative analysis and ask questions at
the meeting for clarification. We will accept comments on the alternatives analysis for
2 weeks after the meeting (September 15).
