I wish to state my strong opposition to the Westpoint development and their permit application. The Eno River
Park is not only a precious natural resource, but a fundamental component of Durham's identity, as evidenced by
the extremely well attended annual eponymous festivals. The Save Black Meadow Ridge group has raised many
concerns that I share regarding the potential adverse impacts to the Eno River water quality and ecosystem,
and, as such, I do not think this project is in the Public Interest of Durham residents nor those outside Durham
who visit the park to enjoy a gift of nature that is becoming increasingly rare amidst the gratuitous and insidious
development that plagues North Durham. At a minimum, there needs to be a public hearing and a high level of
review to ensure any planned development addresses voiced concerns.
