Hello,
I am emailing you today about your shoreline stabilization application. First, let me just see this is the
most comprehensive and well organized application I have seen and I greatly appreciate it. Second, I will
need you to read, sign, and return to me the attached Catawba Riparian Buffer form. I have attached it
in two formats. Please fill out whichever one works best for you. Third, you don't need approval for a
buffer restoration. You are allowed to remove weedy vegetation without approval, especially when it
comes to an invasive species like English Ivy. So, since you are restoring the buffer, what we ask is that
you use native species, thus ensuring that they will survive and thrive on your property. I've attached a
list of what we recommend in case you wanted some ideas. If you have any further questions, feel free
to contact me.
Thanks,
Doug Perez
