The meeting was held in Cleveland County and agencies and stakeholders discussed 10 potential alternatives. Seven of these alternatives were eliminated because they would not meet Cleveland County's Purpose and Need. Atota| of five alternatives will move forward for in-depth analysis. These include No Action, First Broad River Reservoir, Upper Crooked Run Creek Side Stream Reservoir with Pumped Storage, New Water Treatment Plant on Broad River and Purchase of Water from Forest City orShelby. Items discussed during the meeting ranged from documentation of decreased use when water conservation is in place, mitigation costs for each alternative, explanation of the different amounts of water needed under various alternatives, more information on the safe yield models, triggers and difference in capacity and Kings Mountain indicated that they were willing to discuss the sale of water to CCW.
