It's amazing to me that after all the pleasure and profit that the Eno River has given to the City of Durham; after
all the remarkable work that's been done to keep the Eno green; after the dollars that individuals and institutions
have spent to keep the Eno pristine....it's truly amazing that it is again under siege. How much less foresight can
a city have? How much greed is too much greed? I was born and raised in Durham and have lived within 10
miles of the Eno for the whole of my life and I cannot fathom that arrogance that it would take to try, once again,
to endanger this river. What is wrong with the city planners of Durham that they cannot look beyond the
pocketbook? Does it not occur to them that something ought to be sacrosanct and safe from development?
I urge the powers that be to say no to the Westpoint development.
