I oppose this proposal for many reasons and strongly advocate for public hearings and a more robust
environmental and historical impact analysis. This development is in a CRITICAL area for water quality, historic
preservation, endangered or threatened species and for quality of life for Durham residents. West Point on the
Eno Park has enormous personal significance to me. I was married there, worked there, my husband was a
miller there and my first apartment in Durham was across the street. I know that my story is just one of
thousands! Considering that this development will impact the park and the surrounding communities, and there is
strong opposition, I hope that you will expand and extend the period for public comment and give thorough
consideration to the objections raised by Save Black Meadow Ridge and others. I realize that this specific
comment form is for the Clean Water Permit for the proposal, but there is currently no other forum for public
comment as far as I know. Please do not grant a Clean Water Permit to this project without further assessment of
the potential impact of water quality in the Eno and it tributaries, wetlands, flood zones and all riparian buffers for
permanent and intermittent waterways on this land.
