I oppose this project as it will have
- significant impacts on water quality in a sensitive area
- negative impacts on species and ecology in the adjacent area
- these have not been addressed openly during the application process
- the permit itself is inappropriate given the scope, scale, and public concern
Given these issues, the permit type the Westpoint developer applied for needs review from the US Army Corps
of Engineers, along with additional oversight and impact assessments. A public hearing from the Division of
Water Resources per code: 15A NCAC .02H .0503 is necessary.
