I am concerned about the numerous large development projects that have been proposed recently in north
Durham. The character of north Durham is rural, and the housing density here tends to be 2 dwellings per acre.
It is a tranquil, peaceful part of Durham, and most of the people who live here chose it for this quality of life.
Building high -density housing will dramatically alter the character of north Durham. Roxboro Road is already
subject to a large amount of traffic, and the new high school will only make matters worse. Building a high
density -housing development will make the traffic on Roxboro Road unbearable and will negatively impact the
quality of life of the people who live here. I am also concerned about the destruction of the forests in north
Durham (which are the habitats for numerous species of animals) and potential pollution of the nearby Eno River.
