A PRE -CONSTRUCTION MEETING IS MANDATORY BEFORE ANY WORK CAN BE DONE AT SITE. CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY OWNER, ENGINEER AND LOCAL EROSION CONTROL INSPECTOR AT LEAST 1-WEEK PRIOR TO START OF CONSTRUCTION. 2. INSTALL CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE(S) WITH WASH RACK(S) AND ESTABLISH CONSTRUCTION ROUTES AND LAYDOWN AREAS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE EROSION CONTROL PLANS. 3. INSTALL PERIMETER SILT FENCE WITH WIRE FENCE (SF), INLET PROTECTIONS (IP), SEDIMENT TRAPS (ST), TREE PROTECTION (TP) AND SAFETY FENCING (SAF) AS ILLUSTRATED ON THE EROSION CONTROL PLANS. 4. SEDIMENT BASIN AND TRAP EMBANKMENTS SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH ADEQUATE GROUNDCOVER IMMEDIATELY UPON CONSTRUCTION. 5. ONCE ALL EROSION CONTROLS ARE ESTABLISHED AND APPROVED BY THE SITE INSPECTOR, BEGIN CLEARING AND STRIPING THE SITE AND TEMPORARILY STOCKPILING IN DESIGNATED LOCATION ON EROSION CONTROL PLAN. PROVIDE SILT FENCE WITH WIRE FENCE AROUND TEMPORARY STOCK PILE AND TEMPORARILY SEED STOCKPILE IF LEFT OVER 14 DAYS. 6. MONITOR EROSION CONTROLS DAILY AND IMMEDIATELY AFTER RAIN EVENTS. SITE INSPECTOR AND ENGINEER HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO ADD ADDITIONAL EROSION CONTROL MEASURES AS NECESSARY TO CONTAIN RUN-OFF. 7. BEGIN BULK GRADING OPERATIONS TO ESTABLISH SUB -GRADE ELEVATIONS AND PERFORM PLANARITY SURVEY TO BE ACCEPTED BY ENGINEER. 8. CONTRACTOR TO INSTALL REQUIRED STORM DRAINS, GEOTEXTILE FABRIC, STONE AGGREGATE AND ALL OTHER PROPOSED UNDERGROUND UTILITIES. 9. INLET PROTECTION SHALL BE PLACED AROUND PROPOSED STORM INLETS AS THEY ARE BEING CONSTRUCTED. 10. ANY INTERRUPTION IN WORK FOR 21 WORKING DAYS OR MORE MUST BE STABILIZED WITH MULCH. SYNTHETIC TURF FIELDS EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL PLAN EROSION CONTROL SEQUENCE - PHASE II: 1. MAINTAIN, RELOCATE OR REPLACE PHASE I EROSION CONTROL MEASURES WITH ALL PHASE II EROSION CONTROL MEASURES AS OUTLINED ON THE DRAWINGS IN -ORDER TO STABILIZE SITE. PERMISSION TO REMOVE ANY CONTROLS MUST BE GRANTED BY THE SITE INSPECTOR. 2. MONITOR EROSION CONTROLS DAILY AND IMMEDIATELY AFTER RAIN EVENTS. SITE INSPECTOR AND ENGINEER HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO ADD ADDITIONAL EROSION CONTROL MEASURES AS NECESSARY TO CONTAIN RUN-OFF. 3. CONTINUE THE INSTALLATION OF SITE UTILITIES, FENCING, CONCRETE, ASPHALT AND OTHER SITE FEATURES. 4. STABILIZE ALL AREAS THAT HAVE BEEN CONSTRUCTED WITH GRADES APPROVED WITH VEGETATION, STONE, RIP -RAP OR OTHER GROUND COVER AS SPECIFIED ON THE DRAWINGS. 5. FILL SLOPES SHALL BE LEFT IN A ROUGHENED CONDITION TO REDUCE THE CHANCE OF EROSION UNTIL THEY ARE COMPLETELY STABILIZED. 6. PERMANENTLY SEED AND / OR SOD AREAS AS DESIGNATED ON THE EROSION CONTROL PLAN UPON COMPLETION OF GRADING ACTIVITIES. 7. CONTRACTOR TO INSTALL PARKING LOT IMPROVEMENTS WHILE SEDIMENT TRAP #2 IS STILL IN COMPLETE WORKING ORDER. ALL PROPOSED STORM INLETS SHALL HAVE INLET PROTECTION PLACED AROUND THEM IMMEDIATELY AFTER INSTALL TO PREVENT SEDIMENT BUILD UP FROM RAINFALL EVENTS. 8. SEDIMENT TRAP #2 SHALL REMAIN IN WORKING ORDER UNTIL THE ENTIRE PARKING LOT AND SURROUNDING GRADES HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY STABILIZED. UPON COMPLETE STABILIZATION OF THE UPSTREAM DRAINAGE AREAS, CONTRACTOR DEWATER AND REMOVE ANY SEDIMENT ACCUMULATION FROM SEDIMENT TRAP #2 AND BEGIN CONVERSION TO PERMANENT BIO-RETENTION. 9. THE BIO-RETENTION CAN BE THEN INSTALLED BY FIRST INSTALLING THE OUTFALL, THEN EXCAVATING TO THE REQUIRED DEPTHS OF THE BASIN AND PLACING SOIL MEDIA AS REQUIRED. THE BIO-RETENTION SHALL BE STABILIZED WITH SOD IMMEDIATELY UPON COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTION. 10. THE PROPOSED STORM SEWER SYSTEM SHALL BE VISUALLY INSPECTED USING CCTV OR OTHER METHOD PRIOR TO DIVERTING THE STORM SEWER TO THE STORMWATER CONTROL MEASURE (BIO-RETENTION). STORM SEWER MAY NEED TO BE FLUSHED TO A SEDIMENT TRAPPING DEVICE PRIOR FINAL OPERATION OF THE STORMWATER CONTROL MEASURE. 11. ONCE THE ENTIRE DRAINAGE AREA TO THE SEDIMENT TRAP #1 HAS BEEN STABILIZED, DEWATER TRAP AND REMOVE ANY SEDIMENT ACCUMULATION THEN FILL THE TRAP USING STOCKPILED SOIL AND BRING TO FINISHED GRADE IN COMPACTED LIFTS. SMOOTH THE TRAP SITE TO BLEND WITH SURROUNDING AREA, ENSURING THE TRAP WILL NOT POND WATER, AND IMMEDIATELY STABILIZE. 12. EROSION CONTROLS SHALL REMAIN IN PLACE UNTIL SITE HAS BECOME STABILIZED. ANY REMOVAL OF EROSION CONTROL MEASURES MUST BE APPROVED BY THE SITE INSPECTOR PRIOR. DO NOT REMOVE TEMPORARY SEDIMENT TRAPS UNTIL THE DRAINAGE AREA TO THE TRAP HAS BEEN PERMANENTLY STABILIZED. 13. CONTRACTOR TO MAINTAIN AND WATER GRASS SEEDED AREAS ON -SITE UNTIL ACCEPTABLE STAND OF VEGETATION IS ACHIEVED. STORMWATER MANAGEMENT SEQUENCE OF CONSTRUCTION: STORMWATER MANAGEMENT TRENCH #1, 2 AND 3 CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE: 1. CONTRACTOR TO NOTIFY ENGINEER ONCE ALL EROSION CONTROLS ARE IN PLACE AND PRIOR TO MASS EXCAVATION TO REVIEW STORMWATER MANAGEMENT CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE. 2. IDENTIFY AND AVOID EXCESSIVE COMPACTION FOR THE AREAS IDENTIFIED AS STORMWATER TRENCH #1, #2 AND #3 ON THE GRADING PLAN (SHEETS C5.0-05.1). CONSTRUCTION VEHICLES SHALL AVOID TRAVELING ON THESE AREAS. 3. BEGIN BULK GRADING OPERATIONS WHILE ONLY EXCAVATING TO THE REQUIRED FIELD SUB -GRADE AND TOP OF TRENCH ELEVATION. THE FIELD SUBGRADE SHALL BE LEFT IN A ROUGHENED CONDITION AND SHALL NOT BE COMPACTED. CONTRACTOR SHALL NOT EXCAVATE TRENCH UNTIL UP -GRADE AREAS HAVE ACHIEVED REQUIRED ELEVATIONS AND HAVE BEEN PROPERLY STABILIZED WITH GEOTEXTILE FABRIC AND #57 STONE. 4. GRADING OF STORMWATER MANAGEMENT TRENCHES SHALL ONLY BE COMPLETED IN THE DRY. 5. ONCE UP -GRADE AREAS HAVE BEEN STABILIZED, FULL EXCAVATION OF THE TRENCH CAN OCCUR. CONTRACTOR TO SCARIFY BOTTOM OF TRENCH AND PLACE MIN. 3" OF CLEAN WASHED SAND. PLACE AND SECURE GEOTEXTILE FABRIC TO THE SIDES OF TRENCH. DO NOT LINE BOTTOM OF TRENCH WITH GEOTEXTILE FABRIC. 6. PROCEED WITH INSTALLATION OF ALL REQUIRED STORM DRAINAGE PIPING, OBSERVATION WELLS AND CONTROL STRUCTURES. STORMWATER MANAGEMENT TRENCHES SHALL REMAIN OFFLINE UNTIL ALL UPSTREAM AREAS HAVE BEEN PROPERLY STABILIZED. THE ENTIRE TRENCH INCLUDING THE PIPING AND ALL STRUCTURES SHALL BE AS -BUILT BY A PROFESSIONAL LICENSED SURVEYOR IN THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA. 7. NOTIFY ENGINEER FOR INSPECTION OF TRENCH AND PIPING WHILE PROVIDING AS -BUILT INFORMATION FOR REVIEW/APPROVAL. DO NOT BACKFILL TRENCH WITH STONE UNTIL WRITTEN APPROVAL IS ISSUED BY DESIGN ENGINEER. 8. AFTER APPROVAL FROM ENGINEER, BACKFILL TRENCH WITH REQUIRED STONE. STORMWATER SYSTEM CAN BE CONNECTED TO OUTFALL AFTER TRENCH HAS BEEN STABILIZED. CONTRACTOR TO MAINTAIN STABILIZATION FOR ENTIRE DRAINAGE AREA AFTER COMPLETION OF INSTALLATION. 9. PERFORM IN -SITU INFILTRATION TESTING ON THE FINISHED AGGREGATE BASE PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF THE SYNTHETIC TURF SURFACING. 10. IF NECESSARY, DE -WATERING OF THE STORMWATER TRENCHES SHALL BE DIRECTED TO AN APPROVED EROSION CONTROL PRACTICE. 11. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROLS TO PROTECT PRACTICE AS NECESSARY DURING AND AFTER CONSTRUCTION OF FACILITY UNTIL PROJECT REACHES FINAL COMPLETION. BIO-RETENTION #1 CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE: 1. CONTRACTOR TO NOTIFY ENGINEER ONCE ALL EROSION CONTROLS ARE IN PLACE AND PRIOR TO MASS EXCAVATION TO REVIEW STORMWATER MANAGEMENT CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE. 2. IDENTIFY AND AVOID EXCESSIVE COMPACTION FOR THE AREA IDENTIFIED AS BIO-RETENTION #1 ON THE GRADING PLAN (SHEET C5.1). CONSTRUCTION VEHICLES SHALL BE LIMITED TO TRAVELING ON THIS AREA. 3. BEGIN BULK GRADING OPERATIONS TO ACHIEVE REQUIRED SUB -GRADE ELEVATIONS UP -GRADE OF THE BIO-RETENTION AREA. THE STORMWATER MANAGEMENT TRENCH #3 SHALL BE INSTALLED AND STABILIZED PER THE CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE ABOVE PRIOR TO THE INSTALLATION OF THE BIO-RETENTION FACILITY. 4. ONCE THE ENTIRE UPSTREAM DRAINAGE AREA OF THE BIORETENTION HAS BEEN PROPERLY STABILIZED, CONTRACTOR TO NOTIFY SITE EROSION CONTROL INSPECTOR FOR APPROVAL TO REMOVE SEDIMENT TRAP #2. 5. AFTER SEDIMENT TRAP #2 HAS BEEN PROPERLY REMOVED, CONTRACTOR TO BEGIN EXCAVATION OF BIO-RETENTION FACILITY. CONTRACTOR TO LEAVE BOTTOM OF FACILITY IN A SCARIFIED CONDITION AND PLACE/SECURE GEOTEXTILE FABRIC TO THE SIDES OF THE TRENCH ONLY. 6. PROCEED WITH INSTALLATION OF ALL REQUIRED STORM DRAINAGE PIPING, OBSERVATION WELLS AND CONTROL STRUCTURES. STORMWATER PRACTICE SHALL REMAIN OFFLINE UNTIL ALL UPSTREAM AREAS HAVE BEEN PROPERLY STABILIZED. THE ENTIRE TRENCH INCLUDING THE PIPING AND ALL STRUCTURES SHALL BE AS -BUILT BY A PROFESSIONAL LICENSED SURVEYOR IN THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA. 7. NOTIFY ENGINEER FOR INSPECTION OF TRENCH AND PIPING WHILE PROVIDING AS -BUILT INFORMATION FOR REVIEW/APPROVAL. DO NOT BACKFILL TRENCH WITH STONE AND SOIL MEDIA UNTIL WRITTEN APPROVAL IS ISSUED BY DESIGN ENGINEER. 8. AFTER THE BIO-RETENTION HAS BEEN INSPECTED AND APPROVED BY DESIGN ENGINEER, BACKFILL TRENCH WITH REQUIRED STONE AND APPROVED SOIL MEDIA MIX. IMMEDIATELY STABILIZE SURROUNDING SIDE SLOPES AND DRAINAGE AREA WITH SOD. 9. PREPARE PLANTING SOD AS OUTLINED ON THE PLANTING PLAN LOCATED ON SHEET L1.0. ALL VEGETATION SHALL BE WATERED REGULARLY (TWICE WEEKLY) UNTIL GRASS BECOME ESTABLISHED (-6 WEEKS). 10.
