Ms. Moore:
In regard to NOV 2021-TX-0050 for Ridge View Community (permit
#NC0060283) we offer the following explanation:
The mobile home park is unique in that it consists of 14 underground sand
beds and septic tanks. There is no access until the wastewater reaches the
shared effluent. We have not had a Toxicity problem since 2013. The Park is
100% domestic wastewater. We are working closely with the ETS Inc lab to
identify all possible toxins. Jim Sumner at ETS has been instrumental in
helping us with this problem. We have found the toxin is an oxidizer and
possibly a biocide. On 10/19/21 we dug up all 14 suspect septic tanks to
sample and deliver to Jim for analysis. We will continue sampling until we
isolate and eliminate the toxin. We have scheduled another Chronic Toxicity
the week of Oct 31". There is a small creek that runs through the property
that is being tested upstream as well.
A letter has been delivered to the tenants recommending a 10% bleach
cleaning solution only.
Please allow us time and resources to remedy this problem in lieu of a
possible fine. Your understanding in this matter is greatly appreciated. If I
can be of further assistance please don't hesitate to call.
Since r ly,
Trevor C. McMinn (ORC)
