Signed: O/yMYam✓ h Dylan Moore Received By: CAPE FEAR ENGINEERING September 23, 2021 Wilmington Regional Office Water Quality Section Subject: Sewer Permit Submittal for Grayson Park Phase 3A Gravity Sewer System to Serve 140 Lots Modification to (W00029667) Brunswick County, North Carolina Dear Mr. Lewis: Cape Fear Engineering, Inc. (CFE) is requesting a modification to the wastewater collection system for Grayson Park. This request is for the Phase 3A of the development which proposes 140 lots to be served via gravity sewer main. The permit will be modified accordingly for the future phases of development. Flow from this project will go to downstream sewers permitted under WQ0029667 and will eventually discharge to the Belville Wastewater Treatment Facility (NC0075540). The flow allocation for the currently proposed Phase 3A is 29,400 gpd. A FTSE form will not be required as the February 12, 2018 permit modification applied the approved flow reduction to the existing permit and flow is available (see attached spreadsheet). For your review we have provided the following: • Fast Track Sewer System Extension Application (FTA 06-21) • Existing Sewer Pennit (WQ0029667) • Grayson Park Flow Allocation Tracking Table • Engineering Narrative • Construction Plans I trust that the information provided is sufficient for your approval of this modification request and execution of the permit application. Please let us know when the signed application is ready to be picked LIP. If you have any questions or need any additional information, please contact me directly. Sincerely, Mason Manhertz, P.E. This submittal includes improvements to serve 22 single family residential lots and 118 multifamily units in Phase 3A of the development. Wastewater flows from proposed Phase 3A will be conveyed through a new gravity sewer system. Flow will go to a downstream sewer system (Existing Phase 2A) permitted under WQ0029667. Ultimately wastewater flows will discharge to the Belville WWTP (NC0075540). The proposed gravity sewer will consist of approximately 3,850 LF of 8-inch SDR-35 PVC pipe and approximately 45 LF of 8-inch ductile iron pipe. A pump station is planned for future sections of Grayson Park Phase 3. The receiving force main from the pump station will tie into SSMH #9. As such, approximately 85 LF of the proposed force main will be installed during construction of Phase 3A. WASTEWATER PROJECTION: A flow reduction was approved for the Grayson Park Development under permit WQ0029667 on February 12, 2018. The addition of Phase 3A will be a permit modification and will apply the flow reduction of 210 GPD/unit. Thus, the projected ultimate average flow from the 140 proposed service connections is anticipated to be 29,400 GPD. The sewer permit includes enough available flow for Phase 3A, therefore, a FTSE form is not required. SYSTEM DESIGN: Gravity System: The gravity sewer system for the project has been sized in accordance with the requirements set forth in "NCDENR Minimum Design Criteria for the permitting of Gravity Sewers". TREATMENT FACILITY: The proposed wastewater flow of 29,400 GPD for Phase 3A of the Grayson Park development is covered under existing permit WQ0029667. Therefore, no additional flow is being requested from the Belville Wastewater Treatment Facility. OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE: Brunswick Regional Water and Sewer (H2GO) will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the sanitary sewer system.
