The Division of Water Quality (DWQ) 401 Oversight and Express Review Permitting Unit has reviewed
the Onsite Mitigation Plan for the above-referenced project.
We are requesting clarification regarding riparian areas along the relocated and enhanced portions of the
streams on the northern portion of the property. The width of the proposed riparian zone is unclear from
the figures provided in the mitigation plan. In addition, it is unclear what part of the riparian zone will
be planted with woody vegetation and which portions already have woody vegetation.
Please provide details on the width of the riparian buffer along each side of both the relocated and
enhanced reaches, along with assurance that these riparian zones will be included within a conservation
easement.
In addition, please note that Section 6 of the plan (Monitoring and Success Criteria) states that
monitoring reports will be submitted to the U.S. Army corps of Engineers (USAGE). Copies of all
reports and correspondence should be submitted to DWQ as well.
