Mr. Jeffery Jones, Park Superintendent, was present for the inspection. A copy of the latest permit was available on site. Proof of system maintenance was provided, and showed the last septic service was on July 22, 2020 by Gilreath's Septic Service. No annual testing was documented. Mr. Jones stated that this was due to non-existent discharge volumes, which he stated was discussed with the WSRO representative who completed the last CEI (Lowe was able to confirm this statement after the fact; George Smith of WSRO stated in 2015 report that operation was compliant as long as discharge was not occuring). Mr. Lowe was shown the bathrooms, where a high-level alarm is installed to prevent overfilling the septic tank. Across the road from the restrooms is the buried sand filter field, which showed no sign of sinking, odor, or abnormal wet spots. Mr. Lowe was then led several hundred feet away from the filter bed to the outfall, where no effluent was discharging. Mr. Jones stated that neither he nor the maintenance workers at the park have ever observed flow from the pipe. Mr. Lowe speculated that the lack of flow could be due to the distance the waste travels from the tank to the filter bed to the outfall. The system appears to be in excellent condition, and documentation of the maintenance was above par. Recommend continued observation of discharge pipe with intent to sample effluent if the chance arises.
