Dear Ms. Tuttle:
The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted an inspection of the septic treatment system at 182
Regency Drive on September 20, 2021. This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in
compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in NPDES WW Permit No. NCG550142. The findings
and comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection report entitled
"Compliance Inspection Report".
There were no significant issues noted during the inspection and therefore, a response to this inspection report is
not required. However, you stated during the inspection that the chlorine tablets currently used in your system are
not wastewater grade, but rather are pool chlorination tablets. Please note the importance of using the proper
disinfection tablets, as detailed in the enclosed flyer.
You also stated that you have not sampled your system effluent within the annual timeframe due to mobility
issues. Please note that annual sampling is required by permit, and failure to complete sampling could result in
enforcement actions. Included in this packet is a short list of local certified laboratories who may be able to assist
you in the collection and sampling of your system effluent.
Finally, to achieve full compliance with your permit, please remember to retain all documents related to the
operation and maintenance of your system, including proof of septic tank servicing and general permit (copy
enclosed).
