HomeMy WebLinkAboutWQCS00119_Approval_20211019 October 19, 2021 Royce Harper, Mayor Town of Tabor City PO Drawer 655 Tabor City, NC 28463 Subject: Variance Request Approval 2019 Sewer Improvements CDBG 19-I-3114 Tabor City Collection System (Permit No. WQCS00119) Columbus County Dear Mr. Harper: The Division of Water Resources (Division) has reviewed the submitted variance request received on October 18, 2021, for the subject referenced project. Per the submitted documentation and in accordance with the provisions for alternative design under 15A NCAC 02T.0105(n), the Division will grant a variance for the replacement of approximately 1,230 linear feet of 8-inch gravity sewer located on Seals St., between manholes 5 through 9 at a slope of 0.34%, approximately 396 linear feet of 8-inch gravity sewer located on Seals St., between manholes 9 and 10 at a slope of 0.35%, approximately 998 linear feet of 8-inch gravity sewer located on Brown St., between manholes 15 through 19 at a slope of 0.34%, as indicated on the provided plans, specifications, and supporting documents. Regardless of the variance approval, in the event that the wastewater collection facilities fail to perform satisfactorily, including the creation of nuisance conditions, the Permittee shall take immediate corrective action, including those as may be required by this Division, such as the construction of additional or replacement facilities. All other elements of this project shall be constructed in accordance with all applicable rules and statues including, 15A NCAC 2T; the Division of Water Resources’ (Division) Gravity Sewer Minimum Design Criteria adopted February 12, 1996, as applicable; and the Division’s Minimum Design Criteria for the Fast-Track Permitting of Pump Stations and Force Mains adopted June 1, 2000, as applicable.
