Tom,
I met briefly with Dee Freeman yesterday, a portion of our discussion was in regard to the
proposed reservoir in Cleveland County. He suggested that I get in touch with you to better
understand what, if any, options may remain.
I did a brief amount of research 3 years ago, following the Corp's initial rejection, and
understood that there were a number of reports being done by DENR that could potentially
reverse the Corp decision. I am interested in those findings as well as your thoughts on the
lake and on alternatives that could meet our growing need for a reliable long -term water
source in Cleveland County.
I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this at your convenience. I will be in Raleigh
on the 14th and available early afternoon, if your schedule would allow for a brief meeting.
If not, my office can coordinate a suitable time.
