I am opposed to the development behind the West Point on the Eno. I believe that any bulldozing, road building,
stormwater infrastructure, or anything else of that nature will have a significant impact on the public and should
require a more vigorous review and oversight than is currently happening. I think, at minimum, a real public
hearing should be required before any further developments are made.
The Eno and surrounding natural areas is one of the defining things about the city of Durham that separates it
from other similar mid -sized cities. It means we can appeal to a larger spectrum of new citizens, businesses, and
outside investment. Allowing a 60 acre development on land that abuts the park and land that most casual
citizens think is already part of West Point would be a travesty to our growing city.
