I am opposed to the Westpoint development due to its negative impact on the environment and on drinking water
resources. I believe that the permit type the developer applied for needs review from the US Army Corps of
Engineers, along with additional oversight and impact assessments. I am requesting a public hearing from the
Division of Water Resources per code: 15A NCAC .02H .0503
The developer has left out information in the application for Westpoint, including negative impacts on water
quality, including Durham's drinking water.
The application omits how the development negatively impacts threatened and endangered species and their
habitat.
The application does not account for negative impact on historical sites within the West Point on the Eno Park.
Finally, the application seeks the wrong permit type, given negative impacts, public interest, and appreciable
public opposition to the project.
