BelowisabriefupdateontheSOCandassociatedprojects:

1. AlbemarlereceivedfundingthroughtheDivisionofWaterInfrastructurefor$16,453,000in
fundingforamajorrenovationtotheLongCreekWastewaterTreatmentPlant.Theprimary
objectiveoftheprojectistotransitiontheaerationprocessfromthefloatingaeratorsoverto
diffusedaeration.Theprojectwouldalsoprovidefor8,000,000gallonsofflowequalization
volumetomanagepeakflowevents.
2. TheEngineeringReportwassubmittedtotheNCDEQWastewaterProjectsUnitonAugust25,
2021.OurteamexpectstoreceivecommentsfromNCDEQbytheendofOctober.Following
receiptofcomments,ourteamwillmakerevisionsasnecessarytotheEngineeringReportand
resubmittoNCDEQforapproval.WeexpecttoreceiveapprovaltoproceedtotheDesignPhase
byJanuaryof2022.
3. Albemarle’sCouncilvotedtoutilizeallfundsobligatedunderCS370522Ͳ07ongravitysewer
rehabilitation.ThePhase3projectwillincludesaninvestmentof$6,156,000ontherehabilitation
of24”,18”,12”,and8”gravityseweralongtwomajoroutfallsthatareknownsourcesofinflow
andinfiltration.
4. TheDivisionofWaterInfrastructure(DWI)approvedtheEngineeringReportandissueda
CategorialExclusionforthePhase3projectonApril22nd.Theprojectiscurrentlyinthedesign
phaseandwillbesubmittedtoDWIforreviewinthecomingweeks.Theprojectisexpectedto
beginconstructionintheSpringof2022andtakeapproximatelyninemonthstocomplete.
