The downstream end of the proposed project site is located near the
intersection of Solomons Dr and Longbottom Rd in Traphill, NC.

This project was developed and funded by the US Department of
Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service. Currently,
approximately 1,465 feet of an unnamed tributary to Double Creek
and another 125 feet of a smaller tributary are severely impaired, with
actively eroding banks evident throughout much of the reach and no
riparian buffer or shade. The NRCS has funded a project to restore
the site using a natural channel design stream restoration approach
and to establish a healthy native riparian buffer upon completion of
construction work.
The stream is small and has a 0.7 square mile drainage area at the
downstream end.
