Dear Ms. Locklear:
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources, in accordance with the provisions of NC GS
143-215-.3 (a) (10), 15 NCAC 2H .0800, is pleased to renew certification for your laboratory to perform
specified environmental analyses required by EMC monitoring and reporting regulations 15 NCAC 2B
.0500, 2H .0900 and 2L .0100, .0200, .0300, and 2N .0100 through .0800.
Enclosed for your use is a certificate describing the requirements and limits of your certification. Please
review this certificate to insure that your laboratory is certified for all parameters required to properly meet
your certification needs.

records, and proficiency of the laboratory have been examined and found to be acceptable.

Dear Mr. Cummings: .
The following are the results of the Division of Water .Quality Chemistry Laboratory testing
of samples that were -collected -during the inspection conducted during the week of October 23; 2006.
Please refer to my October 27, 2006 inspection report that was sent to you (COMPLIANCE
BIOMONITORING INSPECTION). The results of the laboratory parameters are follows: Total
'Suspended Solids = 4 mg/L, Biochemical Oxygen Demand = 2.0- mg/L, NH3 as N 0.05 mg/L,
TKN as N = 0:20 mg/L, NO2 plus NO3 as N . 10 mg/L, and P as P = 2.5 mg/L. In addition, the
Ceriodaphnia Chronic toxicity samples that were collected during the same week resulted in a
"Pass": The test results'; for the whole effluent toxicity samples indicated that the effluent would not
be predicted to have water quality impacts on the receiving water. They were sent to the Division of
Water Quality Aquatic Toxicology Laboratory (located on Reedy Creek Road in Raleigh).
