Inspection Summary:
Inspection conducted to determine compliance with the conditions of the NPDES NCG070000 Stormwater General Permit.
Facility's coverage under the NCG070000 permit was issued on August 31, 2020. Inspector met with Mr. Jonathan Drury,
Factory Manager, who provided the facility's Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SPPP) and Qualitative Monitoring
records for review. Qualitative monitoring of stormwater discharges has been conducted and recorded on a quarterly basis,
which exceeds the current permit requirement of semi-annual monitoring. Based on current site conditions and the facility's
industrial activities, Quantitative (analytical) Monitoring under. Part 11, Section B,1 of the NCG070000 permit is not warranted.
Additionally, the facility's limited vehicle/equipment maintenance does not use more than 55 gallons of new motor oil and/or
hydraulic oil per month. Therefore, analytical monitoring requirements under Part 11, Section B,2 do not apply. Facility's
SPPP contains all permit required components along with associated documentation of an annual revieWupdate including
employee training, facility inspections, non-stormwater certification and listing of any significant spills or notation that none
have occurred. After the records review, observations were made of site conditions including around the stormwater
discharge outfall, chemical storage building, waste dumpsters, and storage area for product molds. At the time of
inspection, there were several drums stored outside awaiting pickup. These drums did not meet the capacity criteria listed in
the permit for requiring secondary containment. Facility appeared to be well operated/maintained and in compliance with the
NCG070000 permit conditions.
