• Two sets of revised plans
• The revised wet basin calculations which now include the level spreader
• The revised wet basin supplement form
• The level spreader supplement form
• A picture of the vegetated filter strip area
• The LLC amendments adding Jeff Wright to the member list.
Jeff Wright will be sending the 0&MA for the level spreader. I raised the elevation of the wet basin
to set the PPE nearly at the SHWT. This required me to revise the pipe layout slightly. I removed
the yard inlets for lot 25 and lot 9 because the grate elevations were lower than the new top of the
pond. In addition, the higher invert created a vertical clearance issue with the infiltration basin
outlet pipe. I revised the pipe run from Old Blossom Court which crosses the infiltration basin
outlet pipe to maintain vertical pipe clearance. This also provided an opportunity to create a single
inlet into the forebay. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
/john E. Prevette, I11, P.L.S.

John,
I'm concerned about the last item still. Liners are great for keeping water in the pond, but not for preventing water from
seeping into it. One of our concerns is that there is potential for the liner to be blown out if the ground water pressure
becomes too great. Therefore, we have not allowed liners to be used for this situation.
I was wondering however if the SHWT will change (maybe be lowered?) once the existing pond is filled in. I'm not a soil
scientist though, so I don't know. Otherwise, you will need to provide more analysis as per the manual, to show that the
proposed temporary volume will not be taken up by groundwater flowing in.

Thanks Robert,
I've detailed below how I plan to address your comments in the letter. Let me know if you have any problems or concerns.
submitting that to you.
2. The LS/VFS detail on sheet CI1 needs to specify the length of the lip and that it be constructed of
concrete.
I will include that detail.
3. To prevent erosion of the VFS, a bvpass shall be provided when flow rates from the wet pond exceed
the capacity of the LS/VFS.
Storms in excess of the design storm will outflow through the overflow spillway in addition to the riser. Flow
into the riser (and to the LSNFS) will not exceed 2cfs because the overflow spillway will be working in
conjunction with the riser. The actual LSNFS flow will be about 1.6cfs. I will include the storm routing data
for clarification.
4. The signing official, Mr. Jeff Wright, is not shown on the NC Secretary of State's website as being a
managing member for the LLC Please clarify.
Jeff is the newest member in the LLC. The NCSOC website apparently does not have the latest copy of the
organizational amendments which include his name. I have asked him to get me a copy and I will forward it
to you.
We will be utilizing a clay liner in the pond to separate water in the natural water table from the water in the wet
pond. I will send a short report showing that the infiltration rate for the design clay liner is zero and thus, will
have no impact on wetlands, down slope swales, etc. I noticed that the cross section detail does not extend the
clay liner all the way up to the SHWT elevation. I will revise that.
-John
