In reference to your emailed comments from August 30, 2011, the following are the responses
to those comments made by your office for the above named project and our responses are as
follows:
1. Please provide the original signed O&M Agreements; only copies were provided.
Waiting for the signed forms from the owner, will provide when received..
2. Any wetlands and surface waters must be shown; or provided a note on the plans
that non exist, if that is the case. Note included on Sheet C-4.
3. Is the pipe from 0#8 labeled correctly as being 58"? Size has been corrected.
4. Please provide the HGL information for the 48" pipe that the 3 bioretention cells
(cells) will be discharging to. Please demonstrate that there will not be backwater
issues for the cells. Invert of 4" PVC underdrain is above the top of the existing
42" pipe which was sized for the 100 yr storm.
5. For all 3 cells, the required 2' separation from the SHWT has not been provided as
required. The separation is measured from the bottom of the stone/underdrain
elevation down to the SHWT elevations provided in the soils report. Two of the
bioretention cells have been eliminated. The remaining cell has 1.84' of
clearance from the bottom of the gravel layer and the SHWT. There has been a
wetlands area incorporated into the design better utilizing the elevation of the
SHWT.
6. Please verify and revise as needed the elevations for cell #3 and associated riser.
The elevations are not consistent between the supplement form and sheets C-3 and
D-10. Revised and corrected.
7. On sheet D-10:
a. The schedule shows grassed cells, but also shows 4" of mulch. There should
not be a mulch layer in grassed cells. Removed the detail to show grass
and no mulch.
Grass cells must be sodded. Please specify that sod be used in the detail,
along with the species of grass. Added note to specify sod.

c. The bottom of cell values in the schedule do not account for the stone and
underdrain layer depth. Please revise. Made appropriate revisions to the
schedule.
d. Please provide details for the riser structures. Added a yard inlet detail to
be used as the riser.
e. The cell detail needs to be more site specific than the generic detail from the
BMP Manual. It should state the site and cell specific depths of the different
layers, ponding depth, whether filter fabric or choke stone will be used,
underdrain specifics, etc. Changed to a site specific detail.

submitted for review due to the high Seasonal High Water table. As such, we are requesting an additional three weeks
extension for the period set for us to resubmit the plan to DWQ. If you have any questions, concerns, or comments,
