10. ALL DETAILS SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED IN STRICT COMPLIANCE WITH SPECIFICATIONS AND
CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS.
11. ALL RADII SHALL BE 30' (F.O.C.) UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
12. THE PURPOSE OF THE PERMANENT STORM DRAINAGE EASEMENT (PSDE) IS TO PROVIDE ACCESS TO
THE STORM WATER MANAGEMENT BMP. STRUCTURES ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE EASEMENT AREA.
ANY OTHER OBJECTS WHICH IMPEDE STORM WATER FLOW OR SYSTEM MAINTENANCE ARE ALSO
PROHIBITED.
13. WHEN PERSONNEL AND/OR EQUIPMENT ARE WITHIN 2' OF THE EDGE OF AN OPEN TRAVEL LANE (5' ON
STATE MAINTAINED ROADS), THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REFER TO THE "WATCH" FOR PROPER LANE
CLOSURE AND COORDINATE WITH NCDOT STANDARDS FOR WORK WITHIN NCDOT RIGHT-OF-WAY.
14. AT THE END OF EACH WORK DAY THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BACKFILL UP TO THE EDGE AND
ELEVATION OF THE EXISTING PAVEMENT AREAS WITHIN 2' OF AN OPEN TRAVEL LANE THAT INCLUDE A
DROP OFF OF MORE THAN 3" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LATEST EDITION OF THE WORK AREA TRAFFIC

1. LOCATION OF EXISTING UTILITIES SHOWN ON THESE PLANS WERE
COMPILED BASED ON THE BEST INFORMATION AVAILABLE. THESE
LOCATIONS ARE NOT INTENDED TO BE EXACT OR COMPLETE. THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH ALL UTILITY COMPANIES AND
FIELD VERIFY THE LOCATION OF ALL UTILITIES PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION.
2. THE CONTRACTOR IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR SITE SAFETY
ASSOCIATED WITH THE WORK UNDER THIS PROJECT AND FOR
COMPLIANCE WITH ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL HEALTH AND
SAFETY LAWS, CODES, REGULATIONS, AND ORDINANCES INCLUDING BUT
NOT LIMITED TO THOSE CURRENTLY MANDATED BY THE OCCUPATIONAL
SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION (OSHA).
3. ANY AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CONTRACTOR AND PROPERTY OWNERS
SHALL BE MADE IN WRITING AND COPIED TO UNION COUNTY.
4. CONTRACTOR TO REPAIR/REPLACE ALL STATE MAINTAINED PAVEMENT DAMAGED BY
CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES TO SATISFACTION OF NCDOT. NO SEPARATE PAYMENT
SHALL BE MADE FOR PAVEMENT REPAIR EXCEPT AS NOTED ON PLANS.
5. CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL TRACER WIRE ON ALL BURIED WATER PIPING.
6. IN THE EVENT OF DAMAGE TO EXISTING UTILITIES, CONTRACTOR SHALL STOP WORK
IMMEDIATELY, TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO PREVENT INJURY OR FURTHER
DAMAGE, AND NOTIFY PROPER AUTHORITIES. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE
RESPONSIBLE FOR RESTORING/REPAIRING ALL EXISTING STRUCTURES, CONDUITS,
OR OTHER UTILITIES DAMAGED BY CONTRACTOR'S OPERATIONS AT NO COST TO
OWNER.
7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL RECONSTRUCT ALL ROAD SHOULDERS, DRAINAGE DITCHES
AND SWALES DISTURBED BY CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES TO THEIR ORIGINAL
GRADE AND LOCATION.
8. TESTING, CLEANING, AND DISINFECTION:
A. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING PROVISIONS
FOR TEST SECTIONS AND/OR OTHER FACILITIES REQUIRED FOR TESTING
THE PIPELINE. SUCH FACILITIES WILL NOT BE PAID FOR SEPARATELY
BUT SHALL BE INCIDENTAL TO THE UNIT PRICE BID FOR THE PIPE.
B. LIMITED WATER WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR TESTING OF NEW MAIN AND TANK.
C. SEE SPECIFICATION SECTION 02660 AND 15060 FOR ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION.
9. PIPE JOINT DEFLECTIONS SHALL BE NO GREATER THAN 80% OF THE
MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDED MAXIMUM DEFLECTION. UNLESS OTHERWISE
NOTED ON THE PLANS, CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY ENGINEER WHEN JOINTS OR
FITTINGS NOT SHOWN ARE REQUIRED.
10. ALL HOLES, TRENCHES, AND OTHER HAZARDOUS AREAS SHALL BE ADEQUATELY
PROTECTED BY BARRICADES, LIGHTS OR OTHER PROTECTIVE DEVICES.
11. ALL ROCKS, BRUSH, TIMBER, AND OTHER DEBRIS THAT IS CLEARED FROM THE
PROPERTY SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE PREMISES AND SHALL NOT BE
PLACED ON ADJOINING LANDS.
12. EXCESS/UNSUITABLE SPOIL TO BE REMOVED FROM SITE. PRIOR TO BEGINNING
CONSTRUCTION, CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT THE OFF —SITE SPOIL LOCATIONS TO
BE USED AND PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION OF EROSION CONTROL MEASURES TO BE
PROVIDED DURING DISPOSAL OPERATIONS. CONTRACTORS OFF —SITE SEDIMENT
CONTROL MEASURES MUST BE APPROVED BY NCDENR PRIOR TO SPOIL DISPOSAL.
13. ALL TREE PROTECTION AND EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION CONTROLS SHALL BE
IMPLEMENTED BEFORE CONSTRUCTION COMMENCES AND SHALL NOT BE REMOVED
UNTIL RE —VEGETATION HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED.
14. THERE IS NO PAY ITEM FOR DEWATERING AND NO SEPARATE PAYMENT WILL BE
MADE FOR DEWATERING. ANY DEWATERING OF THE TRENCH REQUIRED IS THE
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR AND SHALL BE INCIDENTAL TO THE UNIT
PRICE BID FOR THE PIPE.

GRADE ADJACENT PROPERTIES. WHEN FIELD CONDITIONS WARRANT OFF -SITE
GRADING, PERMISSION SHALL BE OBTAINED BY CONTRACTOR FROM THE
AFFECTED PROPERTY OWNERS.
7. IN ORDER TO ENSURE PROPER DRAINAGE, CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN A
MINIMUM OF 3% CROSS -SLOPE ON THE GRAVEL DRIVE. SEE DETAIL 3/OOC-09
8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN THE EXISTING DRAINAGE SWALE IN AN
UNOBSTRUCTED CONDITION AND SHALL REMOVE FROM THESE AREAS ALL
DEBRIS, LOGS, TIMBER, TRASH, JUNK AND OTHER ACCUMULATIONS.
9. ANY CONSTRUCTION OR USE WITHIN THE AREAS DELINEATED AS FLOODWAY
DISTRICT FRINGE BOUNDARY LINE OR FLOODWAY DISTRICT ENCROACHMENT
BOUNDARY LINE IS SUBJECT TO THE RESTRICTIONS IMPOSED BY FLOODWAY
REGULATIONS. PER FEMA PANEL 3705184477, NONE EXIST ON THIS PARCEL.
10. THE LOCAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT HAS NOT REVIEWED AND DOES NOT
ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE STRUCTURAL STABILITY OF ANY EXISTING OR
