GENERAL NOTES
1) All utilities or structures not designated for removal or modification are to
remain and be protected from damage.
2) All demolition work shall be performed with "due care and diligence" so as
to prevent the arbitrary destruction or interruption of concealed utilities
which are intended to remain in use and the routing of which could not be
predetermined until demolition was started. All such discoveries of utilities
during the demolition process which are in a location different from that
indicated or are unidentified, shall be reported to the architect before
removal for final disposition.
3) All waste material generated from demolition work shall be disposed of off
site in accordance with government regulations.
4) Salvageable fill materials from site demolition determined to be acceptable
by an independent soils testing laboratory shall be utilized for fill material
where appropriate.
5) Any note, or reference to any element, which does not specify action by the
contractor shall be construed as information only.
6) Clear and grub all areas to receive pavement/structures as shown on the
site plan.
7) All structures/utilities designated for modification shall be protected by the
contractor during construction.
8) Strip topsoil, clear and grub as required within construction limits.
9) Contractor shall verify location of all underground utilities prior to beginning
work. Contractor to coordinate any required relocation with the appropriate
agencies.
PHASING NOTE
The existing Sanders Sikes PE building is to be demolished during
Phase 1 of this project.

Site Notes:
1) All boundary and topographic information was taken from a survey by
Lawrence Associates, PA.
2) All improvements and construction shall be in accordance with state and
local standards.
3) All pavement markings shall be four (4) inch white lines unless indicated
otherwise on the drawings.
4) Any discrepancies found in the field shall be called to the attention of the
owner prior to proceeding with the work.
5) Prior to beginning construction, the contractor shall verify that all required
permits and approvals have been obtained from all regulatory authorities.
6) The contractor shall contact all owners of easements, utilities, and
right-of-ways, public and private, prior to working in these areas.
7) Contractor shall maintain the site in a manner such that workman and the
general public shall be protected from injury.
8) Do not scale drawing for actual dimensions, as it is a reproduction and
subject to distortion.
9) All signs, pavement markings, and other traffic control devices shall
conform to the latest edition of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control
Devices.
10) Any road improvements are to be coordinated with The Town of Wingate
prior to construction.
11) Pipe systems and/or channels located within public drainage easements
are the maintenance responsibility of the individual property owner.
12) Non-standard items in the right-of-way require a right-of-way
encroachment agreement with The Town of Wingate prior to installation.
13) Refer to sheets C-3.0-C-3.3 for grading and drainage.
14) All storm drainage pipe must be NCDOT approved and class 3 or greater.
15) No planting of trees or bushes within right of way unless approved by The
Town of Wingate.
16) All debris is to be disposed of at an approved offsite location.
17) Refer to Architectural plans for actual building dimensions.
18) For exterior lighting, refer to electrical plans.

Grading Notes
1) Approval of this plan is not an authorization to grade adjacent properties.
When field conditions warrant off -site grading, permission must be obtained
from the affected owners.
2) All contours and spot elevations reflect finished grades.
3) All elevations are in reference to the benchmark.
4) Contractor shall verify the benchmark prior to ground breaking.
5) The contractor shall immediately report to owner any discrepancies found
between actual field conditions and construction documents and shall wait
for instructions prior to proceeding.
6) Contractor shall verify location of all existing utilities in the field prior to
beginning construction.
7) Contractor shall blend new earthwork smoothly to transition back to existing
grade.
8) Refer to geotechnical engineer's report for earthwork specifications and
requirements.
9) Limits of clearing shown on grading plan are based upon the approximate
cut and fill slope limits, or other grading requirements.
10) Lawrence Associates, PA has not performed any geotechnical evaluations
of the subject property and has not made any determinations as to the
suitability of site soils for use as fill beneath proposed buildings, driveways,
or for other uses. All earthwork shall be completed in accordance with the
recommendations of a qualified geotechnical engineer who shall be retained
by the owner.
11) Roof drain piping shall be PVC. Pipe shall have a 1 % slope minimum and a
minimum 2' cover. Refer to the Utility Plan and plumbing plans for roof drain
locations.
12) Contractor shall ensure positive drainage such that runoff will drain by
gravity flow across any disturbed area.
13) Contractor shall take all reasonable measures to prevent tracking mud/soil
on adjacent roadways. Any mud/soil tracked on active roadways shall be
cleaned daily.
Construction Se6Slenow
1) Owner or their representative is to notify all affected property owners priO00
construction.
2) First Land -disturbing activity-Stablize bare areas immediately with gravel
and temporary vegetation as construction takes place.
3) Install initial erosion control measures (construction entrance, inlet
protection, and sift fence) as indicated on sheets C-3.0 and C-3.1 prior to
building demolition.
4) Begin building demolition and maintain all erosion control measures.
5) Upon completion of building demolition (Sanders Sikes), install the
temporary storm drainage, rock inlet protection, and sediment trap as shown
on sheet C-3.0 prior to the installation of the permanent storm drainage.
6) Upon completion of house demolition install the temporary storm drainage
D122-FES21, temporary diversion ditches, and sediment trap as shown on
sheet C-3.1.
7) Once all initial erosion control measures are installed the contractor can
proceed with grading and the installation of the permanent storm drainage
and inlet protection as indicated on sheets C-3.2 and C-3.3.
8) Upon completion of the permanent storm drainage installation and erosion
control measures the contractor may remove the temporary sediment trap.
9) Apply temporary or permanent stabilization measures immediately on all
disturbed areas were work is delayed or complete.
10) Install necessary erosion and sedimentation control practices as work takes
place.
11) Last construction phase -Stabilize all open areas including borrow and spoil
areas. Remove and stabilize all temporary control areas.
12) All erosion control measures shall be constructed in accordance with the NC
Erosion and Sediment Control Planning and Design Manual.
13) The contractor shall diligently and continuously maintain all erosion control
devices and structures to minimize erosion.
14) Additional erosion control measures may be required during the course of
this project.
Erosion Control Notes
1) All exposed perimeter areas and slopes greater than 3:1 are to have ground
stabilization within 7 days, all other areas are to have ground stabilization
within 14 days.
2) Any off -site borrow and waste required for this project must come from an
approved erosion control plan site, a site regulated under the Mining Act of
1971, or a landfill regulated by the Division of Solid Waste Management.
3) Debris from demolition activities should be disposed of at an approved
facility.

Gracku Notes
1) Approval of this plan is not an authorization to grade adjacent properties.
When field conditions warrant off -site grading, permission must be obtained
from the affected owners.
2) All contours and spot elevations reflect finished grades.
3) All elevations are in reference to the benchmark.
4) Contractor shall verify the benchmark prior to ground breaking.
5) The contractor shall immediately report to owner any discrepancies found
between actual field conditions and construction documents and shall wait
for instructions prior to proceeding.
6) Contractor shall verify location of all existing utilities in the field prior to
beginning construction.
7) Contractor shall blend new earthwork smoothly to transition back to existing
grade.
8) Refer to geotechnical engineer's report for earthwork specifications and
requirements.
9) Limits of clearing shown on grading plan are based upon the approximate
cut and fill slope limits, or other grading requirements.
10) Lawrence Associates, PA has not performed any geotechnical evaluations
of the subject property and has not made any determinations as to the
suitability of site soils for use as fill beneath proposed buildings, driveways,
or for other uses. All earthwork shall be completed in accordance with the
recommendations of a qualified geotechnical engineer who shall be retained
by the owner.
11) Roof drain piping shall be PVC. Pipe shall have a 1 a/o slope minimum and a
minimum 2' cover. Refer to the Utility Plan and plumbing plans for roof drain
locations.
12) Contractor shall ensure positive drainage such that runoff will drain by
gravity flow across any disturbed area.
13) Contractor shall take all reasonable measures to prevent tracking mud/soil
on adjacent roadways. Any mud/soil tracked on active roadways shall be
cleaned daily.
Construction Setauence
1) Owner or their representative is to notify all affected property owners prior to
construction.
2) First Land -disturbing activity-Stablize bare areas immediately with gravel
and temporary vegetation as construction takes place.
3) Install initial erosion control measures (construction entrance, inlet
protection, and silt fence) as indicated on sheets C-3.0 and C-3.1 prior to
building demolition.
4) Begin building demolition and maintain all erosion control measures.
5) Upon completion of building demolition (Sanders Sikes), install the
temporary storm drainage, rock inlet protection, and sediment trap as shown
on sheet C-3.0 prior to the installation of the permanent storm drainage.
6) Upon completion of house demolition install the temporary storm drainage
DI22-FES21, temporary diversion ditches, and sediment trap as shown on
sheet C-3.1.
7) Once all initial erosion control measures are installed the contractor can
proceed with grading and the installation of the permanent storm drainage
and inlet protection as indicated on sheets C-3.2 and C-3.3.
8) Upon completion of the permanent storm drainage installation and erosion
control measures the contractor may remove the temporary sediment trap.
9) Apply temporary or permanent stabilization measures immediately on all
disturbed areas were work is delayed or complete.
10) Install necessary erosion and sedimentation control practices as work takes
place.
11) Last construction phase -Stabilize all open areas including borrow and spoil
areas. Remove and stabilize all temporary control areas.
12) All erosion control measures shall be constructed in accordance with the NC
Erosion and Sediment Control Planning and Design Manual.
13) The contractor shall diligently and continuously maintain all erosion control
devices and structures to minimize erosion.
14) Additional erosion control measures may be required during the course of
this project.
