Aqua North Carolina, Inc. (Aqua) offers the following response to the above -referenced Compliance
Evaluation Inspection which required a response to item 2) The Capital Improvement Plan was not available
during the inspection. Please send a copy of the latest CIP to the office within 30 days' receipt of this letter.
Aqua's Response:
Aqua updates its company -wide 5-year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) every fiscal year. This plan
includes funds for collection system upgrades, expansions, and replacements. The plan also includes
regional bucket allocations that include all of Aqua's collection systems and wastewater treatment
facilities. Aqua's CIP more than meets the environmental regulatory requirement. Please recognize that
our financial operations are regulated by the North Carolina Utilities Commission. The requirement for
CIP review is more appropriate for municipal governments without financial regulatory overview by
the North Carolina Utilities Commission.
