RE: Closeout Request for UT to Crooked Creek (Speas) Mitigation Site (EEP IMS #434)
The UT to Crooked Creek (Speas) Mitigation Site is located in Franklin County in the Tar - Pamlico 01
Catalog Unit. The 5th year monitoring for the site concluded in February 2012. The site was presented
for Close Out on July 12, 2013.
Based on the July 12, 2013 onsite review, our discussions onsite and the enclosed asset map, EEP
requests closure of the site's buffer assets generating 5.25 ac (228,900 sq. ft.) of buffer mitigation.
Perpetual site protection will be maintained by:

RE: Closeout Request for Billy's Creek Mitigation Site (EEP IMS #36)
The Billy's Creek Mitigation Site is located in Franklin County in the Tar - Pamlico 01 Catalog Unit.
The 5" year monitoring for the site concluded in December 2010. The site was presented for Close
Out initially on May 24, 2011. At that time the stream component of the project was closed out but
monitoring for buffer assets was extended due to low stem counts in 2 vegetation plots. In that 2011
closeout report, "EEP has elected to reserve proposing any project acreage for buffer restoration credit
at this time." Supplemental planting was done in January 2012 (350 - 5 and 10 gal. stock). The total
buffer acreage of planted stems is 3.43 acres (Total Easement area: 5.028 acres; Area of existing
vegetation: 1.6 acres). The previously discussed amount of 2.6 acres did not include areas where
supplemental planting was completed. Based on the July 12, 2013 onsite review, our discussions onsite
and the enclosed asset map, EEP requests closure of the site's buffer assets generating 3.43 (149,410.8
sq. ft.) of buffer mitigation.
