Re: ABB Motors and Mechanical (Formerly Baldor Electric)
General Permit No. NCG030070
Please find enclosed the DMR for September 2021. This is a quarterly sampling
event. There was no flow at outfall B.
We currently remain in Tier III status at conveyance point B due to zinc exceedances.
Benchmarks were exceeded for parameters at these two outfalls resulting in Tier I
status.
C — copper .0166 mg/L and zinc .180 mg/L
E — copper .0109 mg/L
No significant process sources of zinc have been identified at our facility. We
continue to believe that the major contributors are infrastructure sources. Run off
from metal roofing is the primary culprit for outfall B. We are maintaining cleaning
activities for outside storage areas to minimize the impact that forklift and delivery
truck travel have on stormwater runoff.
Please contact me with operational or compliance issues.
Sincer y,
Ame
