To Whom It May Concern at NCDENR, This in the response to the Notice of Violation, NOV-2021-PC-0390, dated August 19, 2021 received by A&H Hog Farm LLC. Response to Violation 1: On July 9th the lagoon level was at 17 inches. The reason for the lagoon level being high at this time is because the fields were sprigged in June with coastal Bermuda. I was advised by Doug Heath who sprigged the fields that since I was using a hose drag system to stay off the new sprigs for at least 8 weeks in order not to damage the root system. Response to Corrective Action: Starting pumping after the 8 week window and the lagoon is back in compliance. In the future, with the coastal Bermuda now established, pumping and keeping the lagoon in compliance should not be an issue. In addition, sludge clean out of the lagoon is planned for spring 2022. I have attached copies of my pumping records from 1/1/2020 to present.
