Subject: Request for Additional Information
Stormwater Permit No. SW1210601
MoJo Storage
Haywood County
Dear Mr. Hyatt:
The Division of Energy, Mineral and Land Resources (DEMLR), received a Stormwater
Management Permit Major Modification Application for the subject project on June 21, 2021. A
review of that information has determined that the application is not complete. The following
information is needed to continue the stormwater review:
1. Please provide a geotechnical investigation to ensure that the seasonal high water table
provide enough separation for the permeable pavement to meet the design requirements
(Permeable Pavement MDC 1 and 2).
2. Please provide calculations showing that the storage in the aggregate base is sufficient to
store the entire runoff volume from the rooftop and the rainfall directly onto the
permeable pavement (Permeable Pavement MDC 7).
3. Please provide calculations showing that the permeable pavement will drain within the
timeline required for infiltrating systems (Permeable Pavement MDC 8) or detention
systems (Permeable Pavement MDC 10). Infiltrating permeable pavement calculations
must also be backed up by infiltration tests during the geotechnical investigation.
4. Please provide calculations showing that the outlet from the stormwater system is
protected from erosion during the peak flow from the 10-year storm event (General MDC
4).
5. Please show the permeable pavement and maintenance access (minimum 10-foot wide) in
an easement that extends to the nearest public right of way (General MDC 9).
