On June 25, 2007, the Express Review Program of the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your
application for the above referenced project. On July 5, 2007, DWQ received additional information.
Several items still require additional information. Please provide the following information so that we
may continue to review your project and prevent denial of your application as required by 15A NCAC
2H .0506:
1. Wet Detention Basins-Planting Plan. The planting plan (sheet C-13) you provided does not
provide sufficient detail. Please provide a planting plan with the correctly spelled scientific
(botanical name), the common name, size of the plant material, and quantity of each. The
spacing you indicated (5' x 5') is too far apart. These plants are typically planted on 18-24-inch
centers. Your plan seemed to indicate plants throughout the wet detention pond rather than just
the vegetated shelf. Finally, your note that the "contractor may provide alternatives plants based
on availability/cost/planting season" makes it difficult to know what would actually be implemented
at the site. Please see Chapter 6 of the NC DENR Stormwater BMP Manual for information on
planting plans (http~/Ih2o enr.state.nc.us/su/documents/Ch06-PlantandSoilSpecs-.pdf particularly
Section 6.4.1).
Please respond no later than July 16, 2007 by sending three (3) copies of the above information in writing.
The Express Review Program is a process that requires all parties to participate in a timely manner. This
letter only addresses the application review and does not authorize any impacts to wetlands, waters or
protected buffers. Please be aware that any impacts requested within your application are not authorized
