July 28-Aug 9 — Ponds taken out of service and replaced with tanks Aug 9 — Sampling and analysis Plan submitted to EPA/NC to assess below ponds, ravines, and geology/geohydrology Aug 12 — Plan implementation initiated. Weekly progress reports to NCDEQ. Some delay due driller availability and rain Sept 15 — Plan for dewatering below ponds developed. Samples from at least 2 intervals in each soil boring will be collected for laboratory analysis. 5 of the soil borings in the pond area will be converted to 2-inch monitoring wells based on the XRF field screening, potential to make water, and/or soil sample results from the onsite lab. 2 other groundwater only wells will be installed to the east and southeast of the pond area.
