Aid No: Funding: State Federal Federal Permit(s): Yes No Permit Type(s): USACE Project Description: Extension of NC 42 East to connect SR 1563 (Little Creek Church Rd) and improve intersection of SR 1563 and SR 1560 (Rand Rd). The intersection of NC 42 and US 70 Business will be designed for the future typical section (4-lane) and transition to a 2-lane configuration before the intersection with Little Creek Church Rd. Portion will be on new location. SUMMARY OF HISTORIC ARCHICTECTURE AND LANDSCAPES REVIEW There are no National Register-listed or Study Listed properties within the project’s area of potential effects. There are no properties less than fifty years old which are considered to meet Criteria Consideration G within the project’s area of potential effects. There are no properties within the project’s area of potential effects. There are properties over fifty years old within the area of potential effects, but they do not meet the criteria for listing on the National Register. There are no historic properties present or affected by this project. (Attach any notes or documents as needed.) Date of field visit: March 2019 Description of review activities, results, and conclusions : Review of HPO quad maps, relevant background reports, historic designations roster, and indexes was undertaken on May 29, 2019. Based on this review there are no NR, DE, LL, SL, or SS in the Area of Potential Effects (APE). An initial field survey found one property that required a full evaluation for National Register eligibility. The report recommended the Ellis Tenant House (JT 2018) not eligible. In a letter dated April 28, 2020 HPO concurred with that finding. No historic properties will be affected by this project. SUPPORT DOCUMENTATION Map(s) Previous Survey Info.
